Description: Rapidly growing pink lesion on ear
History:
This lesion arose rapidly on the ear of a 5 years old male. The issue was whether it was a Spitz nevus or a traumatised hemangioma. The presence of small vessels within the pink clods ruled out hemangioma. The septae between the pink clods represent the white lines seen in some Spitz nevi. The histology shows a disrupted Spitz nevus with some hemorrhage into the nests and acantholysis. Usually you just see some clefting around the nests in Spitz nevi.
