Description: Clinical-part of Total Body Photography.

History:

Presented for six monthly routine skin examination.He has  two similar size and coloured naevi in  the occipital area.

He has more than 100 naevi with skin phototype II.He has been advised to check his skin monthly[self] and been seeing dermatologist annually.

He has strong family history of multiple naevi and melanoma.

Dysplastic Naevus Syndrome-

According to Soyer HP & Hofmann-Wellenhof R,"we feel that when a patient presents with more than 20 dysplastic nevi,one can speak of dysplastic nevus syndrome".Bishop JA et al has developed "Revised Dysplastic Nevus Syndrome Score";a person with total score of equal to or more than 2 has DNS.(Cancer of the Skin ,DS Rigel et al)

According to Kopf et al ,there are five different types of DNS.

He may be in type D-1;familial dysplastic naevi with one person(mother)with melanoma in the family.
