The Three Point Checklist
The three point check list algorithm is the simplest algorithm which attempts to diagnose a melanoma, however it tends to overcall them. In other words it has a high sensitivity but a low specificity.
The three features are asymmetry of colour, asymmetry of network and blue or white structures. Each of these counts as one point. Two points or more are suggestive of melanoma and merit cutting the lesion out.
