History

Case 2. A 38 yr old male with a history of several BCC excised (elsewhere), presented with a recurrent lesion on the nose (BCC), incidentally this lesion on the back was found during a full skin check, both the patient and his wife were unaware of it. Consider the following options- Lichen planus like keratosis,Solar lentigo, Banal nevus, Dysplastic nevus, Melanoma or Other.

Question: What is your clinical diagnosis?

Answer: This is a large lesion but looks clinically like a dysplastic nevus.

Question: What is your dermatoscopic diagnosis?

Answer: There is a lot of regression with grey blue dots. The rest of the lesion looks relatively normal.

Question: What do you think the histology will show?

Answer: Histology showed a moderately dysplastic lentiginous junctional naevus with underlying dermal inflammation, melanin pigment incontinence and fibrosis consistent with completed regression.
