Description:

History: This plaque continued to expand slowly one year after it appeared on the shin of a 49 year old nondiabetic woman. A biopsy showed altered collagen and granulomatous inflammation typical of necrobiosis lipoidica. Dermascopic picture of necrobiosis lipoidica could be described by accentuated arborizing vessels with pearl-white areas of fibrosis.
