Description: A dark lesion, with a blue-white veil and irregular streaks. At 1 o'clock and 4 o'clock, drafts of grey leaf-like areas are visible.
History: This 58 years old gentleman consulted for a plaque psoriasis. This black lesion of unknown duration, of the anterior aspect of his leg, was discovered during the examination. The initial dermoscopic view with its irregular streaks and blue-white veil favoured a diagnosis of melanocytic lesion. Four weeks later (excision appointment), the streaks had changed, were paler (grey) and wider, evoking the grey leaf-like pigmentation of a basal-cell carcinoma. It was the final diagnosis: heavily pigmented superficial basal-cell carcinoma.
