Description: Scalp atrophy with loss of follicular openings, arborizing telangiectasia and hyperkeratotic follicular scales.
History: This 44-year-old woman had discoid lesions for over 5 years with lesions restricted to sun exposed sites. She had large areas of scarring alopecia. A biopsy showed changes typical of discoid lupus. No systemic features or serological abnormalities were present. Dermoscopic description: Dermoscopy shows scalp atrophy with loss of follicular openings, arborizing telangiectasia and hyperkeratotic follicular scales.
