Description: Clinical - Brown macules situated in the hyperpigmented background skin(cafe au lait spot).
History:
Presented for skin examination with skin phototype I.She was not concerned with her birth mark on her left arm.Images were taken with patient in prone position.
Some authorities believe that nevus spilus or speckled lentiginous nevus is a subtype of congenital melanocytic nevus.It is a benign neoplasm.There are cases described in the literature that cutaneous melanoma arising from nevus spilus.
One of the differential diagnosis of nevus spilus is agminated nevus.Background skin in agminate nevus is not hyperpigmented.
