Description: Contact polarising dermoscopy; vessels centrally are almost totally obscured by shiny white structures. Peripheral vessels are also not as clear. An exception to the rule that vessels are better demonstrated by polarising instruments

History: Rapidly enlarging preauricular nodule, arising over only 2 weeks. History suggested keratoacanthoma, but histology was reported as Sections show a cystic basal cell carcinoma with matrical differentiation. It extends into deep dermis.
