Description: This BCC is ulcerated and displays a variety of blood vessels. There are large arborising vessels as expected in many BCC,s but there are also prominent dot vessels as often seen in melanomas and hairpin vessels as expected in keratinising tumours such as SCC,s. It is a possibility that the severe ulceration present has induced some squamous change resulting in these vessels although such change was not reported by the pathologist.

History: This was an "...ulcerated solid basal cell carcinoma invading to the level of the mid dermis..."The patient reported that there had been a lump at that site for several years but that it had changed recently.
