Description: Atypical network, irregular blotches, blue-white structures and irregular dots in periphery

History:

 

This 23-year-old man complained of an enlarging mole on the chest for about one year. The lesion was excised, and histology revealed a superficial spreading melanoma with a Breslow index of 0.78 mm. No metastases were detected.

 

Dermoscopic description: Atypical network, irregular blotches, blue-white structures and  irregular dots in periphery.

 

 Both 3 point checklist and pattern analysis suggestive of melanoma

Criteria
1. Asymmetry (in colors and structures) +1                   

2. Atypical pigment network   +1                                  

3. Blue-white structures (any blue or white color) +1
